In addition to our accredited training courses RSIS We offer a range of In House Accredited Training solutions to suit your individual needs. Although the subject areas tend to be standard we are able to bespoke the courses to your precise requirements. We aim to ensure that delegates feel that the training has been relevant to them, using examples/procedure /documentation from their own workplace rather than just delivering the theory. Our bespoke training is designed to optimise the learning experience and ability of those attending to focus their learning to ensure that we address your specific objectives.

Behavioural Safety

Duration: 1 Day | Capacity: 12 Delegates

We specialise in creating workplace-friendly behavioural safety training which carries the HSE message with impact. Using performance and follow-up facilitation in place of the usual form of training creates a unique and memorable event, generating discussions and engaging audiences emotionally.

All of our scripts, workshops and safety training modules (including Presentation Skills, Intervention and Team-building exercises) are designed specifically for our individual clients, ensuring that we offer a truly unique service which reflects their direct needs.

Asbestos Awareness

Duration: 0.5 Days | Capacity: 12 Delegates

Asbestos is known to be the single largest cause of occupational related deaths and is on the increase, latest figures show there are as many as 2,000 asbestos-related lung cancer deaths each year. Current legislation requires that all employees whose work could foresee-ably expose them to asbestos must be provided with mandatory training and information. This course is designed to highlight the dangers associated with asbestos and to ensure that employers can satisfy their legal duties and obligations and that employees do not inadvertently put themselves at risk.

The course will cover the following topics: What is asbestos and the health hazards, Where it can be found in buildings and who is at risk, Duties of employers and employees, Control measures and Legislation. Designed for any employee whose work could foresee-ably expose them to asbestos and would include all demolition workers and those people who work in the maintenance and refurbishment of buildings.

COSHH Awareness

Duration: 0.5 Days | Capacity: 12 Delegates

Many industrial processes may involve potentially hazardous substances. Even simple cleaning, essential to all pleasant working environments require the use of detergents, degreasers and other potentially harmful substances. In 2002, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations were introduced, setting out the controls and measures management must take to ensure that employees and others do not become ill.

This half day course aims to introduce delegates to the hazards associated with substances hazardous to health, the risks and controls available. It also covers what to expect from a COSHH assessment. Successful completion will prepare delegates to look carefully at their own work activities and contribute to the safer use of hazardous substances in co-operation with their managers and supervisors.

Scaffold Inspection

Duration: 2 Days | Capacity: 12 Delegates

Scaffold inspection training is available for anyone who has the need to inspect scaffold structures on site. Courses are available at all levels: basic for those who would like to increase their knowledge of scaffold inspection and more advanced for those who are required to inspect steel and system scaffolding and aluminium towers. To keep inspection skills upto- date, we also offer an annual refresher course.

This two-day scaffold course will enable people to improve their knowledge of basic access scaffolding and explore scaffold inspection techniques. It covers the requirements of BS5973 and BSEN 12811 in terms of scaffold construction, stability, loading and use. The course also provides delegates with extensive practical experience of conducting ‘real time’ scaffold inspections.

Ladders and Steps

Duration: 0.5 Days | Capacity: 12 Delegates

Under the regulations every person in the chain leading up to, and including, the final user, has a duty of care to both themselves and others to know and understand the practical implications of working safety at height. Demonstration of competence is a key requirement of the new regulations and successful completion of the RSIS Ladder and Step Ladder Training Course provides proof of such competence This half day course can be delivered on a client’s premises or at RSIS training centre in Billingham.

This course offers training for anyone who uses, supervises or manages the use of ladders and stepladders and wants to equip themselves with the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to use ladders and step ladders legally and safely.

Vehicle Marshal

Duration: 6 Hours | Capacity: 10 Delegates

The course is designed to give those persons responsible for directing vehicles on site the required knowledge to do so safely following tried and trusted methods and covers; Vehicle safety, Communication, Hand signals, reversing vehicles on site, Returning the vehicle back to Public Highways.
