Fire Awareness
Duration: 0.5 Day | Capacity: 12 Delegates
The new law consolidates existing fire legislation, and repeals the Fire Precautions Act 1971. At present fire safety laws are scattered across more than 120 pieces of legislation. The Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order improves fire safety by placing the responsibility for fire safety on the employer or ‘responsible person’ for that building or premises. He or she will be required to assess the risks of fire and take steps to reduce or remove them.
This Practical Fire Safety Awareness course will ensure that persons employed to work on your premises receive the appropriate training in what to do in the event of a fire, meeting the Fire Precautions (Work place) Regulations 1999, the Fire Precautions Act (1971) and overview of the New Fire Legislation 2006 (Fire Safety Order).
Fire Extinguisher
Duration: 3 Hours | Capacity: 12 Delegates
The three hour fire extinguisher training course will give all delegates the confidence they need to operate, all types of fire extinguishers that can be found in your place of work. The fire extinguisher training courses are usually quite similar and usually cover the same topics.
The practical demonstration is the best part of any fire extinguisher training course! This will give the opportunity to extinguish different types of Fire, using all the different types of fire extinguishers at the fire extinguisher training centre. All fire extinguisher training courses will address the fact that if a small fire is not tackled quickly it could make things a lot worse. Most big fires will start out as small fires first, whether it is a bin fire or an electrical fire, it is important to recognise these dangers and to place fire extinguisher within your place of work.
Fire Warden/Marshal
Duration: 3 Hours | Capacity: 12 Delegates
This is a course for anyone with responsibility for assisting with emergency evacuation arrangements in their workplace, including fire co-ordinators, fire wardens/marshals, supervisors/managers with fire safety responsibilities or health and safety representatives from any type of organisation.
This 3 hour Fire Marshal Fire Safety training course fully meets the Fire Precautions Act (1971) and the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1999 and covers new fire legislation in force from 1st October ‘06 - The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order. This course provides delegates with a theoretical and practical understanding of the typical functions of a fire warden or fire marshal within a workplace. Additionally this course will give delegates an understanding of how fires start and propagate within buildings and the tools to assist with the development and implementation of emergency evacuation arrangements.
Scrap Burning
Duration: 0.5 Days | Capacity: 12 Delegates
The oxy/fuel gas cutting (burning) process is the quickest and possibly the most economical method of cutting scrap in awkward places. The key features of this one day course include being able to identify the gases to be used, inspection of the equipment prior to use, the safety features involved when performing the task, the lighting up procedure, assembly of the equipment, safe cutting practice, close down procedure and dismantling of the scrap.
