1 Day Refresher / 2 Day Novice (3 persons)


Aims:

To be able to operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with the manufacturers hand book and accepted good practices;

Be able to operate the various attachments and safely sling and manoeuvre a variety of loads using the machine and understand the signals given by slingers/banksman;

Clearly understand the causes of instability of the machine its carrying vehicle and the loads carried;

Be able to carry out a routine pre-use inspection of the machine and its attachments.



Objectives:

• Safely and competently operate the Lorry Loader Hydraulic Crane (HIAB) to the standards required by the skills test;

• Conduct a pre-use check of the machine competently and thoroughly, record the results clearly and accurately, and report any shortcomings to the appropriate person;

• Answer questions relating to the safe operation of the machine, health and safety considerations involved and the work situation in which the machine is expected to operate.
